Film Testing Priority - September

035_Kinglake-Healesville Tour 1, (Australia)

052_Cotter Uriarra Loop (Australia)
035_Kinglake-Healesville Tour 2, (Australia)

Then

Colorado 005_Million Dollar Highway1
Colorado 005_Million Dollar Highway2
004_Grand Mesa Scenic Byway (Colorado)
048_Whitney Portal (California)
084_Sherman Pass 1 (California)
084_Sherman Pass 2 (California)

I still can not publish directly from here & it's a slow process for a developer to manually publish, so it's going to be very slow getting fixes back published.

Looking at filming something rather different & hopefully quite fun for testing this winter. The next season's rides are looking good, there are some solid feature updates on the way to look forward to that Im very sure will really enhance our part of the App. The 2nd half of the Raid Pyrenees is ready but its release is moved to a little later so its at the back of a kind of backlog of rides awaiting to be published.

I hope you have all had a brilliant season outside on the roads. We hit Corsica, Sardinia, Ardennes, Scotland (very wet but possibly the most epic footage filmed in recent years) & Germany...

  • 052_Cotter Uriarra Loop (Australia)

    100/100%

4.17 km - the gradient indicates a descent, but looks like a flat road.
33.44 km - the gradient indicates a descent, but looks like an ascent.

  • v5 035_Kinglake-Healesville Tour 1, (Australia)
    v5 035_Kinglake-Healesville Tour 2, (Australia)

look out for V5 of these two. Please do not ride any other eariler version. They have updated profiles.

  • Thank you. I just wanted to ride tomorrow Kinglake-Healesville Tour 2. I'll ride Colorado 005_Million Dollar Highway1

  • Colorado 005_Million Dollar Highway1

    100%/100%

All OK. But: slightly dark video & 25.89 km (after stop) noticeable decrease in gradient.

  • All OK. But: slightly dark video &

It brightens up towards the end & stage two should be better, grade fix is waiting to be published again.

  • These have been updated

I enjoyed the profile and the distance. First km's is sort of flat functioning as a warmup. Then a small kicker as a warmup for the longer 20ish minute climb. After this some small descends and some more climbing.
At 11,64 there were some nice MTB jumps on the left side of the road. Why didn't we take these??? :)

This v5 is pretty good and feels pretty much in sync with the profile. At times it was hard to estimate the real gradient from the video. In the beginning there were a few weird moments. I wrote down:
800m road goes down, gradient up. Even 4,8% at 950m? ~1,07 all ok again
    1,96km ascend starts too early
7,64km ascending but video looks descend

After this I did not notice any real weird stuff. There were a few times that the resistance dropped just a little bit quick in a descend while the road looked smooth, but it was not bothersome.
The resistance after the standstill/resume is perfect/fixed now.

I'd like to have a KOM at 29,29km to 30,32km. Gradient is avg 6% and 1km climb is long enough
Also a KOM for the final 2 kilometer would be cool for anyone who would like to finish hard :D

  • Updated (probably available inside the app on the 26th Sep)

v6 035_Kinglake-Healesville Tour 1 (Australia) some profile fixes & added the two shorter hills as KOMs

084_Sherman Pass 2 (California) Has a new video file so there should be no white boxes flashing on & off towards the end of the ride!

    Awesome! thanks Phil.

    v3 Million Dollar Highway 1
A little bit boring ride. I guess these US highways are not made for me. Pretty good length climb though.
I didn't notice anything off, but I often had a hard time judging the real gradients. For example at 23,50km I really thought I was descending a bit but the gradient said 0%-1%. Optical illusion?

    v5 035_Kinglake2, (Australia)
Longer ride. I most enjoyed the KOMs being good positioned over the map. Going hard on those two little kickers was fun. I remember one real nice shot with the road going straight, revealing 2 small upcoming hills and neat mowed lawn on the left.
I didn't notice any issues that bothered me. A few times the brightness of the video changes kind of suddenly, like a flicker. I guess this is due to the camera settings and who/how is filming?
