New Raid Pyrenees 2024 , First Half - Feedback

As the other thread is a bit long, I figured I'd start a new one for testing. This will be dedicated to the first 12 of the 24 stages. The second half will be published after they have completed the server switch sometime in June along with the Corsica & possibly also some from Sardinia.

Stage 1 does start a little early so we do have some very strong sun glare at the very start..it gets better!

Stage 2 - we head away from the main roads & you get to see the mountains grow in size.

Stage 3 - 1st proper HC climb with the Iraty, its steep also,  these amazing green-coloured climbs are not as well known as they should be

Stage 4 - 6 Col du Soudet to the Col de Marie Blanque the 2nd long day of filming in the Spring with the older camera...its going to hurt, but its all very scenic!

Stage 7 - 12 Col d'Aubisque to the Peyresourde.  We skip forward in time to September 2022, starting off from the end of Stage 6, some Autumn colours can be spotted as you climb & we are also now using the newer chicken camera on Bertha...I was using this trip to learn the brand-new camera & I am still learning how best to use it, haha.

The list of KOMs for the first 12 stages—I count 35 KOMs in total—might number them? Perhaps in reverse order?

  • noticed some new ones popping up so I did 14 last night.

I think there are now 8 still to Publish to get you to the coast..images & data should be rock solid all the way. You still have the HC cat Port de Pailheres lurking on Stage 20, thats almost as high as the Tourmalet, but then its really 2nd & 3rd Cat climbs to the finish including one fairly flat stage.

Massive drop in resistance for like 1-2 seconds, but widget did not show this drop.

If the grades looked correct on the screen, then its something to do with the connection between the computer & your indoor trainer. Some interference caused by some other electrical hardware where you train?

A very nice ride. Last 4 km's of the climb were harder than I thought averaging 8%.
First somewhere on the climb this gang of goats appeared blocking the road looking like "This mountain belongs to us human!" haha.
Later on the climb a whole hill full of sheep. Very nice view with all those sheep's. So many!!
Later followed by a whole peloton of cows haha.

My experience was very good. Nothing major to fix.
The only thing I've noticed is that the video ends too early at the end. I needed a few more pedal strokes to complete the ride.

  • Just 4 stages left for them to publish, from now on the focus is on this massive 800km long epic

  • v2 RAID12 - Col de Peyresourde

    TDM - 100% / RFI - 100%. Morning's weight is 66.1 kg. Average power - 2.68 W/kg.

    Finally the Pyrenees!
Phil, did you write Vingegaard at the climb?
The gradient decreases after stopping at 4.91 km from the start.
5.66 km - I wish the high gradient had started 50 m earlier.
6.98 km, after stopping at the Mercedes, again decreases of gradient.
The descent. It's terrible! Overtaking cars on the banking! Wow!

  • v5 RAID13 - Port de Bales

    TDM - 100% / RFI - 100%. Morning's weight is 66.4 kg. Average power - 2.45 W/kg.

Blue sky. Goats, cows, sheep. Beauty!
    And everything is great!

  • v5 RAID14 - Col de Mente

    TDM - 100% / RFI - 100%. Morning's weight is 65.7 kg. Average power - 2.4 W/kg.

Amazing! There are few cars on the road!
21.72 km from the start, after stopping, the gradient becomes less than average for a short time.
Col de Menté. On many turns the gradient is small and remains small for a few meters after.

  • v5 RAID16 - Col de la Core

    TDM - 100% / RFI - 100%. Morning's weight is 66.2 kg. Average power - 2.28 W/kg.

11.2 km from start. Maximum gradient about 50 m before the cross of roads. Everything else is very good

Yes all the road markings come from me!

    Fixed fixed fixed v3

It looks worse then it is, I have 180° vision & can see there is nothing on its way up the climb, Im too old to take any real risks for you all...they were probably two old ladys (obviously not Italian ones)  ;-)
