Devices don't connect automatically with ANT+ (4.53.2.37456)

4.53.2.37456 TDA on Windows 10

Since the last BETA version of TDA I have to click "Stop Scanning" to allow all my ANT+ devices to connect.
This happens every time I start TDA Beta. This behavior started after having updated to 4.53.2.37456.
It affects all my devices: including 3M trainer, HRM and External Power meter. None connect automatically.
When I go to the devices overview and click "stop scanning". All devices instantly connect. (trainer+hrm+powermeter)
I don't experience this issue on the current version of TDA public
I haven't tested if this issue is limited to ANT+ or if it affects BT as well.

Anyone else with this problem?

Exact order:
-Start TDA
-Go to Devices (and notice no device connects automatically but. "searching" is shown)
-Click "Stop searching" (and notice al my devices instantly connect)
-Ride as usual

[update: clarified a few things]

  • Yes, today it was almost like that.
The trainer was connected via BT, not via ANT+

  • I generally find ANT+ more finicky than BT for making a connection.  I added a USB extension to my ANT+ antenna so it could fastened to the bike.  Due to ANT+'s lower power and shorter range, the first thing I do when an ANT+ sensor is having trouble connecting is replace the battery.  I appreciate that you seem to be raising a perceived problem with a recent update, but it might be a coincidence.

  • Thanks for your reply and insights.
Personally I have great experiences with ANT+ compared to BT. I have no issues with it's range on any of my bikes or on my trainer setup.

Reading back my own post I should have been more clear on that NONE of the ANT+ devices connect, including the 3M trainer which is on main power and not on battery. All the sensors and the trainer instantly connect when I click "stop searching".

And to add more info to this. The current version on Public does not show this behavior.
It still might be a very specific issue limited to my exact setup or only to people utilizing Ant+ of course...

  • TDA Beta

This issue has propagated to Public.
As of version 4.53.2.0 I experience the exact same issue there.
