General performance issues

I am using the most recent beta version (I don't recall the version number now), and I have very erratic and sluggish performance all around. The app takes ages to start up and load the opening screen, and movies take ages to load.

In addition to that, some movies only load half way, i.e., when I click to select that movie, the screen loads the profile, but nothing else, not even a button to start the movie. This consistently happens for the same movies, i.e., I can never load that specific movie. It happens to new movies (e.g., a recent New Zealand one that is yet published in the production version) as well as some older ones.

Also today a movie got stuck after 6.3 km, there was nothing else to do than kill the app in the task manager. On re-entering the app, the crashed ride uploaded, but I was unable to re-start it from the recent rides menu. I tried 3 times, and the app crashed to desktop all 3 times.

This is on an old laptop, on which the production version is also installed. That production version performs in an acceptable way.

    I can confirm these issues in TDA Beta (4.50.2.34746)

    I am seeing the films not loading the full course or sub courses.

    I could not get the latest movie to load for the download.

    The other night my chosen film was just staying on connecting to cloud. I gave up and used iPad Pro TTA Beta to complete the film with no issues

    I also have no problem with the production TDA on PC and Lap Top (enjoying using the resume ride feature for the Majorca Tour with  live opponents)

    I have the same issue since Thursday. It is nearly impossible to do a ride.

    I wanted to post an issue related to not being able to download a movie most of the time (as of today) but then I stumbled upon this topic.

    When I click a random movie the download and stream button don't appear. This is on 4.50.2.34746
    At the bottom of the screen the text "Connecting to the Cloud" appears.

    When I switch tabs or close the client the download and stream button appear at times (like 1/4th of the attempts). I have never experienced this exact problem before today (my last ride was Thursday  - maybe I didn't notice before)
    It's like one or a few of the nodes in 'the cloud' don't function and some nodes work fine.



    In general reply:
    My TDA Beta has been sluggish for a long time upon startup of the client or loading basically any screen/tab or when browsing movies. Starting a downloaded movie also takes around 5 to 10 seconds. But it NEVER fails for me!
    I have experienced the "loading partial content" and I think I even opened a topic for that before. This was some time ago and I don't have these problems anymore. 

    From time to time I experience the client crashing during rides (exactly like Bart V described) and in all my cases it was caused by Windows 10 installing upgrades in background causing a memory leakage in a certain windows process and eventually the TDA crashing. (I was 'lucky' to be able to resume the ride). Of course Bart's issue might be entirely different..
