For sure, I bet the majority of the riders that ride Coll de Rates never see this view though (this is the top of the extra climb thats hidden above Rates called…

  • Yesterday I finally had the time to ride the new V3 Zoncolan movie.
You know you're in a world of pain when it shows avg 14.5% at the start of the climb :D
I did this with the settings on 100%/100%, but I did put my mountainbike on the trainer which has 36/50 gearing. I'll admit there were a few times I had to use that 50T bailout gear, haha.

I really enjoyed this movie because of it's kilometers long steep slopes. It allows me to do some proper vo2max efforts and test my 20m/30m/60m average watts.
Besides the two sudden gradients drops IliaNSK already mentioned I have no other comments. The movie is perfect if these 2 drops can be leveled out.

I noticed that the old Zoncolan movie has a distance of 19.49km and only 1177m elevation gain.
This new version is only 12.90km and elevation gain of 1326m. Where's that difference in gain coming from?

By the way... Zoncolan from Priola looks like fun too! :D

  • Farrapona (Asturias) part 1
I had unnatural speed up/slowdown of the video on decent at 900m. The climb widget is showing full ride profile even though doing sub course [part 1] All other data is correct in this Widget. This could be a TDA bug.
    UPDATE
    Farrapona (Asturias) part 2
    No issues.
    A beautiful Spanish Climb.

Its a different route, we start climbing up from the river a fair way below the main road start of the old version, plus the new version is using the inclinometer on Bertha which is more accurate for the grades but that can result in more height as we smooth the speed data out to help the playback a bit.

  • Settings 100% & 100%.
    v3 Julian Alps - Triglav - Stage 1
Not on the list, but beautiful places, especially cycling road.
    v1 Drome1
A nice place. I'm looking forward second part.
    v3 Norse1 - Trollstigen
Rode by earlier, under a different name. I liked the valley.
    All films without any comments.

  • Finished v1 Cezanne1 and v1 Cezanne2

Cezanne1: I'd like to suggest adding another KOM at around 9,88km when the gradients increases a bit. I think it's worth it.
    Cezanne2: No remarks. All good.

Question: Are Beaujolais Vineyards Stage 1+2 the same as "Beaujolais - Cycle Tour" ?

  • Question: Are Beaujolais Vineyards Stage 1+2 the same as "Beaujolais - Cycle Tour" ?

Oh no, the old cycletour that was once on a DVD back in the day is a different route although we do hit some of the same roads from the other way. Both stages of the vineyards ride stay in the vineyards on the flanks of the hills. Its sad that the map was pulled as it would have been obvious..its becoming almost impossible now to know where rides actually go

Anyway for me the new 2 stage route was my favorite film of 2022 from what we made.

Thanks for this. Of course I should have noticed this if I looked at the GPS Map :)
And it's good to see the map has returned for Public.

    Some more vids I've tested:

    v4 Pragel Pass, Glarus
Mannnn, I'm so in love with these Swiss vids. Breathtaking views and green valleys. The climb broken into two KOM's with the flat section in between was nice.
I didn't notice anything that could be improved.

    v3 Norse1 - Trollstigen
I'm not much of a fan for long virtual descends, but the climb was fun and had some beautiful waterfalls.
All good, nothing to fix or improve.

Great stuff, I had Norse 1 marked as good & will now mark Pragel, I still have more rides from the Swiss Trip Ive not yet looked at. But will probably do the Dolomites first...although my priority is the new Raid Pyrenees haha...I want this monster done before the spring or it will never be finished & enjoyed.

    008 Klausen Pass, Linthal
    009 short waterfall grv
    011 Brenzersee stage 1
    012 Grosse Scheidegg stage 2
  • Finished testing a few rides. 100%/100% setting.

    v1a Veitastrond (Norway)
Nice flat ride. Other than the timewarp/slow/back bug already mentioned I have nothing to note, but I think I forgot to test roadfeel.

    v4 Rallarvegen 2 (Norway)
Very scenic ride. Enjoyed every second!
Roadfeel sucked on the steeper sections when speed is around 10 km/h. It felt waaaaay to harsh. They should think of something for the editor to allow for finer control over the roadfeel.
If I remember correctly Phil mentioned earlier that the editing software does not allow for this, which is too bad.
Other than this the ride was all good!

    v3 Rallarvegen 1 (Norway)
    Short but very enoyable ride.
At a first glance I was wondering what the second and third KOM were doing there. But after having cycled this I think it's good. The little climbs are steep enough.
Say hello to the goats on the last climb! :)

    Oulles (French Alps)
Excellent. Nice runway before starting the climb. Perfect for a 20-minute effort!
All good, did not experience problems.

I can't remember which ride it was, but there's one in which Phil dodged every tunnel whenever possible by passing it on the right. Claustrophobic much? :D
The camera stability was impressive on the rougher terrain.

I had no road feeling in those places. Regular asphalt.
