Poor Video Quality of Japan Ride

Today we streamed part of one of the Japan rides (Former Tsukuba Railway Course).  The video was quite poor with frequent pauses.  I have not had this happen in a long, long time.  I stopped downloading videos a while back because the streaming performance had been very good.  I have an Ethernet hookup to the PC and my Internet connection speed to this computer is 400-500 Mbps, so that is not issue.

I don't know if there was a large load on the servers.  My ride was done at 4 pm PST (Midnight Greenwich/Zulu), so I would be surprised if there was a big load on the servers.  When I clock through current rides, it does not look like a huge number of riders, by I am basically guessing.

  • I only noticed some minor Garmin filmed slow downs but the video was smooth and good quality.I have Ethernet to PC and internet speed 900-1000 Mbps but always download films(PC and iPad Pro 2020 12.9”)

  • It happens occasionally, i mainly download but have since introduction of streaming used it on and off especially in first few months to test the feature, 90% of that use it has been good quality, the other 10% been mixed whereby during ride quality has been up and down with moments of pixellation and even pauses of running of video..

Recent Beta ride due to not having access to extHD with downloaded routes on the streaming quality wasn't great with the ride freezing at 33km into the 52km and having to abort..

Not sure it is something that anything can be done about as there will be variety factors that can cause issue not at all related to the source...
