v4.47.1.30689 Froze and CTD

Installed new version - okay

Rode two different films (streaming)

Both stuttering viewing the films and 3D maps while riding, data from my Neo Bike was also stuttering. Display on ythe Neo Bike did not match in screen

1st ride TDA froze - well all the metrics did - the film kept rolling. Didn't realise for a short while alas.

2nd ride TDA crashed to desktop about 15km in.

Still lots of issues with my BT HR Belt - same as previously posted

Win11 Pro - all updates

No local network traffic (kids at school lol)

  • I have not had issues with the new 30689 version, but I have only used it a couple of times on short rides (one by streaming and one by downloaded video)..

My network setup uses a hard-wired Ethernet connection.  Not sure if you connect by Wi-Fi.

If your Neo data flow is not right, that sounds like a BT issue, which may be the source of other problems as well, and not likely a problem with TDA.  Are you able to try a different BT transmitter or get the BT transmitter closer to the bike?

  • I should add that if you are wireless and your router has QOS settings,  you could try giving TDA priority in your network.

  • I'm connected internally hard-wired - though NBN wifi (house to NBN Wifi network)

Bluetooth - have tried the internal BT and 2 other USB BT dongles. Bluetooth analyser on the PC (tried 2 different PCs) shows the devices are not dropped. So the PC is getting the BT signals clear and strong. Also the issue doesn't occur when on TrainerRoad or Zwift.

TDA already added to my 'priority' list for routing.

Did another ride last Thursday - film froze in the last 5km, though all other data continued working, as did GPS - which I switched to. Did notice TDA spiked up in the memory and CPU usage around that time.

  • So, it sounds like you live in a remote area where NPN Internet service is delivered by radio wave through an outdoor antenna at your place rather than through a wire or fiber optic.  What kind of download and upload speeds do you get?  How consistent is the service?.  Sometimes services can have good average speed by have lags.  I wonder if the Garmin/Tacx cloud has any issues with this type of network.

  • Alas not quite remote - but just out of reach of a wired internet service.

My speeds are 50/20gb - latency is an issue though.

TDA froze again twice on the previously 'downloaded' Otago Peninsula film. Both times for about 5-8 seconds. Thought the PC had froze too, but TDA responded back with the distance to goupdated, as if it was still monitoring my output during the 'freeze'.

In both cases the freeze occured on a sudden change of gradient.

ie. 35kph-ish on 0-1 percent gradient to 14 percent gradient and sudden deceleration to 11kph

Forgot to say in the previous post, the BT adapter/PC are very closed to the Neo.

  • I did today a short ride (Mt Fuji Part 2) After half of the ride the video stopped. All other controls GPS window, ..) worked and I could drive the ride to the end and save it..

  • 28 Sept update
TDA froze again three times during a 40km ride. The video kept playing, eveything else was frozen. Had to use Task Manager to shut down the application.

I did see that the app in Task Manager was using around 1,283,000k and noted as 'running'

Also had my usual HR belt BT drop outs  - very frustrating

The BT Device Not Connected warning box is annoying and covers some of the profile. I wish it was slightly higher up or at the top part of the screen.
