Garmin connect quadruples my vigorous intensity minutes

For example:
I run for 30 minutes with 10 moderate and 20 vigorous.
This is then displayed in connect as:
Moderate 10
vigorous 40 (x2)
with a total of 90....80 intensity minutes for 20 minutes vigorous work.

My app is auto updated as well so is the most recent version.
I saw that a firmware update is available, could this help?

any suggestions on why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?
  • I think I am seeing the same issue. I did a 40 minute bike ride yesterday, and it recorded 46 x 2 minutes of vigorous for that day, even though I did nothing else vigour that day. I only bought my vivosport a couple of days ago, so need more data to say for sure.
  • Intensity minutes are registered whenever your heart rate exceeds a certain threshold. Exceed it even further, and intensity minutes are doubled. This means, that it is somewhat independent from the actual activity. For example, when you finish a hard workout, but your heart rate remains at a high level for some time, this time will count into intensity minutes as well. And if you sit on your couch and get too excited when watching your favourite football team, this might count as intensity minutes as well :)

And another potential reason for unidentified intensity minutes could be wrist hr monitor giving bad reading.

    Thanks.
id noticed that it tracks intensity minutes directly after training and at various times.
I do 2 or 3 training sessions n just let the heart rate monitor clock up minites because activity trackers dont really know what to make of my sport.

the above example would explain if it were an irregular number above what i would expect buy it is consistent multiples.

Ive Ive a a screenshot shot sf my intensity minutes.
It says 300 vigorous minutes which has already been doubled then doubles it again for the total.
Its late in the week so its not as clear of an example as id like but i can do the same after my monday run to make a clearer example

I've had the same problem since last week, but now it's Monday it's easier to explain. I did a half-hour recovery run today, all easy - 5km, HR ave 112, max 126, training effect 1.6, so a really light run, barely jogging. I've attached a screenshot. This has apparently earned me 61 intensity minutes - 1 moderate and 30 vigorous x 2. I did manually reduce my max HR last week, but only by 5 bpm, which shouldn't have such a bizarre effect. Any ideas what has happened?ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1449169.jpg

I started a new week yesterday Monday 9th 2019. I did 35 minutes weight training. The heart rate zones gave a true reflection of the intensity minutes. All minutes were in zone 1 and 2 which I agreed with. I have my vivosport set to moderate in zone 3xand vigorous in zone 5. However the Intensity Minutes showed a total of 12min moderate and 15 vigorous, total 42. Before i went to sleep I gad another look and the IM had added another 11, whilst sitting in a chair and then totalled 53.??????
