Durability vivosmart 4

Has anyone comment on the durability of the vivosmart 4?

I have had a vivosmart 3. That series had a lot of problem with the band (broken) en display (to dark over time)

Garmin gave me a new (refurbished) band a couple of times. Nice but I rather have a working product then be depend on the goodwill of garmin

So what is the experience with vivosmart 4?

Disclaimer - personal opinion only. I'm a farmer so I abuse my garmin devices more than the average person - soaking wet, dirty, dusty, banged by large animals, etc. Owned different vivosmart models since 2014, vivosmart 3 was probably the least rugged. I purchased two vivosmart 4's shortly after they came out in 2018. Still working fine with some obvious scratches and signs of wear though. My regime has been to wear my watch all the time except when charging and once a week or so remove it and wash with soap and water when I shower.

Rugged is not the problem. I work at a desk and I am very careful with my stuff. That is why it bothers me that the problems with the vivosmart. I have had broken bands (very slowly it rips and then breaks. Where i wil break is weeks before visibele) and mostly less brightness of the screen. My Vivosmart 3 is in great condition, look like new but the screen is so dark it is no longer usable. They al all get it, that is why Garmin exchanged them before. But after 2 year warranty (I live in Europe) the game is over. I think a product like this should last langer als 7 months.

I always get a bubble forming in the band opposite to the charging connection in the first year. Eventually that will pop. I have always received a new watch or my money back, because here in the Netherlands the warranty is 2 year.

i am on my third (11 months) and my wife in her second vivosmart 4. Both already have a new bubble. We wear it 24/7. Not sure if that plays a role.
