Elliptical steps RTE

When on an elliptical, does the vivid 4 count steps? When I use the elliptical with the elliptical workout all it shows me at the end is my heart rate, calories, and time. I’m in the run the edge challenge and don’t mind loading my distance manually in RTE. I just need to know I’m not accidentally adding miles when my watch already added steps. Thank you!

When I use my elliptical machine and set the Vivosmart to track an elliptical activity it counts my steps and adds them to the total step count. When you view the activity through Garmin Connect you do not not see a separate window for the steps as the steps have been added to the total count. Hope this helps.
