VO2 max no longer being recorded

Since a few weeks I no longer get VO2 max measurements from my walks.

I have read the support articles where it says you need

  • Running Activity must be 10 minutes or longer in length
  • Activity must be recorded outdoors with a GPS signal
  • Heart rate data from either a built-in optical heart rate sensor or from a chest strap
  • Heart rate must be elevated to at least 70% of your maximum heart rate for at least 10 minutes continuously

But I have recordered multiple walks without use of GPS, and heart rate below 70% (but longer than 10 minutes), and yet a VO2 max was being recorded. So why would the vivosmart suddenly stop recording VO2 max?   (Or should I rephrase my question and ask why VO2 max was being recorded in the first place for such gentle walks....)

  • strangely enough, VO2 recordings started to re-appear. First I suspected this would be related to new FW4.80, but my first activity where again I had a VO2 max was still recorded with FW4.60
