Vivosmart 4 not recording activities

Hi!

I've had my vivosmart 4 for coming up to a year now - no massive problems with it until now. For the last few of weeks, I am being increasingly frustrated with the activity tracker not being reliable.

For example, yesterday it stopped tracking my PT session about 30 mins into a 60 min workout. And while swimming today I set it to track about 4 or 5 separate times and still came out of the pool with no data recorded. Every couple of lengths it seemed to cancel and go back to the home screen - with no vibration that it had done so.

Any suggestions with how to solve this? I've been looking for a way to lock the screen to avoid any accidental cancellations of tracking - but as I use it as a normal watch too I would still like the gesture raise function to be on.

If it has worked before, you could try a reset. It is done on device in settings-info. But then you will have to set it up from scratch, in Garmin connect like a new device.

  • I've had my device 1 year. It used to work OK but the last month it has started to behave like you're describing when I'm on my bike runs. I start it manually, then verify that the timer is still running from time to time during my run. Suddenly for no reason, sometimes after an hour, the device silently aborts the entire run and discards all data that has been collected. When synching with Garmin connect there is no trace whatsoever of my bike run.

This just happened to me on a 2 mile walk. Advised that I had 1 mile and again when I hit 2 miles. It appeared that I had successfully saved it but it is nowhere to be found in my statistics.
