Hi, I'm new to the garmin ecosystem having just migrated from the world of fitbit (who have done a great job recently, introducing bugs that effectively wreck logged exercise).
Things are going well so far with the Vivosmart 4, which has given me back the features that weren't working properly in the fitbit app: exercise HR zones, exercise HR transferred to Strava and accurate GPS tracking of run routes (without double-backs and skips).
The only thing that I'm really missing is the ability to use 'Audio Alerts' (from phone app) that did work well with fitbit. As far as I can work out, the Vivosmart 4 doesn't support Audio Alerts (ref here).
The Vivosmart 4 does support on-screen distance alerts which can be configured for 1K 'laps' and this does seem to work, though due to the small screen, it's quite difficult to see what the screen is showing during a run. I'll need to experiment more with this + data fields.
Can anyone confirm that Vivosmart 4 definitely doesn't support Audio Alerts?
Could this be added as a feature request for a future update? Or is there some tech reason why the Vivosmart 4 can never support Audio Alerts.
Even without Audio Alerts, I'm really happy to have most of the core functionality back with the garmin.
Thanks!
