Calibrating lap count when swimming

I received a Vivosmart 4 as a gift from my children two weeks ago.  They thought it would track my swimming better than my old Vivofit 3.  So far, I've had mixed results.  The first two times, the device crashed and didn't track my swimming.  Customer support had me download software to reset the device and the crashes stopped, but now I'm trying to get the device to accurately track my lengths.

The first time, I tried to edit the number of lengths after swimming, but discovered that you can't go above 99 lengths.  I routinely do at least 120 lengths in a 25 yard pool.  The next time, I didn't bother to try to edit the lengths.  Unfortunately, the device thought I had done about 200 lengths, which was pretty far off.

Today, I did 62 lengths, stopped, and edited on the Vivosmart screen (the device said 64, which is pretty close), then restarted the device and did another another 90 lengths (the device said 96 lengths, again fairly close).  I guess I'll do a full swim the next time of 120 or so lengths and see what the device says.

Anyone know a way to edit the number of lengths past 99?

The technique of measuring a shorter distance seems to have worked well.  I swam 3200 yards today and the device said 3275, which is pretty close.  Would be nice if I could edit it to get it even closer, but I'll settle for this.
