Strap improvements?

I'm new to fitness trackers and have been looking for a suitable one, particularly garmin ones. One thing that has put me off is the apparent poor quality of the garmin straps. The vivosport and vivosmart 3 seem to be problematic and dont have replaceable straps. Does anyone think the vivosmart 4 strap seem any better or is it likely to be just as much of a problem?

My wife has the Vivosmart 3. It has been replaced twice so far.
The newest one seems to be all good. Customer service said the newer Vivosmart 3's had stronger bands and that seems to be true

When I was on the phone with customer service about the Vivosmart 4, they said the band is alot more sturdy now. Even if it isnt, Garmin's warranty service is great

Indeed. I had my Vivosmart 3 replaced last week and I noticed that the band feels a lot better, sturdier. But I'm selling it and already ordered a Vivosmart 4 :)

Vivosmart 4 straps are okay in terms of resilience. It's silicone and feels soft and pliable compared to the harder Fitbit straps. It will definitely get cuts if you have anything sharp near it so I'm not expecting it to last very long. It would have been nice to been offered a higher quality version but probably they wanted to stay to a certain price point given how close it is to Fitbits mid-tier offerings.
  • The design is much stronger and better than prior gens.
