Garmin Vivomove Style contantly freezes after try to pay

Hi. I don't have good results with garmin support. But I am continuing trying...(I am a idiot)

Beyond the problem to wakeup without need to touch display, like some vibrations as run motorcycle, bycecle, etc that garmin do nothing, this watch have contstants freezes after try to pay anything. After freezes, it do nothing! Do not accept touch, don´t move hands, nothing, like dead! The watch only return to work after put it in charge cable and I need to align hands again. 

This is a fantastic hardware develop, but the software... kkkkkk 

Is it possible to active an "watchdog" to restart the "system" when it freezes?

Software informations: SW 4.00; TSC 2.70; SNS 7.00; NET 2.00

  • I did try this over the last 2 days and am sorry to say it did not work for me. I still just end up with a useless watch telling me it is permanently quarter past nine until I get it back home and put it on charge. Garmin must know about this and have chosen to do nothing to help. I wont be buying another and hopefully anybody who reads this wont either. This was a massively advertised feature.

  • Sad to hear that. For me it does work and not freezing,  since I do that routine. Guess then I'm just lucky.

    Can't say for sure unless you've contacted Garmin Customer Support directly.

    Well. There is reference earlier in this thread to Garmin being contacted with as yet no posted solution.

    However, I somewhat agree and I have contacted them by chat for a personal solution. They have advised me to download the latest Garmin Express to my computer and update the watch with this. The watch has the latest software update but I will do what they say and try again and let you and everyone know the result of Garmin’s proposed solution.

  • Did you find a solution? I still got the issue and the newest (5.5) software version still doesn’t mention it in the change log. It’s a lovely watch but it sucks how little love Garmin gives it. 

  • I can confirm that fw 5.5 did not fix this issue.

  • Hi I tried to update with Garmin Express as instructed. However, the watch wouldn't do this as it stated it already had the latest software. I suspected this anyway when I chatted to them. I tried 3 different shops locked up each time. Went back to Garmin. Told me to do a factory reset and reinstall everything including Garmin Pay and my Santander card details. Tried 2 supermarkets and 1 shop. Locked up each time. I am still to contact them further but will and report back.

  • Yes, yes...I also tried to do factory reset with reinstalling Garmin Pay...Everything with no effect.

  • Btw...How did you connect the watches to garmin express? It asks for ant stick..It is crazy to buy another crap just to single whatches update...

  • I had no problem installing Garmin Express. Downloaded it from this site. Installed it on my computer. Opened the program. Plugged my watch in the USB slot with the cable supplied with the watch and it found it.. If it does not work this simply for you contact Garmin directly for more help. It didn't help me with this particular problem though as advised by Garmin as the watch already had the latest software.
