Garmin Vivo Active HR - Touch screen not responding

Hello, i have issue with my Garmin vivo active HR watch, since last 2/3 days its touchscreen has stopped working.

- I tried soft resetting,

- updating it with Garmin express,

- cleared activity file from folder which were not in standard format.

- Re installed Garmin connect App,

- Also whenever power on it says that "update failed. Try again with Garmin connect"

- tried remove and add Garmin device in Garmin connect app,

- tried resetting with hair pin as mentioned on the forum https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/healthandwellness/f/vivomove-hr/168507/touch-screen-and-gestures-not-working/1019318#1019318

Now it completely stopped working as i cant factory reset it due to non responsive touch screen

Pls help,

Parag

  • I apologize you are experiencing this issue. It sounds like you have exhausted all troubleshooting steps. Can I have you contact support at [email protected] so we can get this resolved.

  • Thanks @Garmin-AmberD for your reply... i continued during these days with my Strava and doing R&D to get my Vivo active back to life, including above i opened the Garmin watch from Start and power key and tried to dry that keeping it ideal for some time, then restarted it for multiple times, since it was wet before it went for big break i kept my Vivo Active HR in rice bag for 1-2 days and it gave amazing results. I read that on some of the forums. Now i tried that for couple of runs, rides and hike, as of now it is working as usual.

I will consider this as a bonus since my vivo active HR is 4 year old. I would like to see the Vivo Active HR forum, i can see lot of problem with this watch and if you reach out to Garmin support they simply ask to replace the touch pad, batteries etc. which is supposed to be half of the cost and that is too expensive. If we have separate forum we can exchange our thoughts and workarounds to poor Garmin users.

    Regards,

    Parag
