Allergic to vivofit jr 2 band

My daughter has developed a rash from the vivofit jr 2 band.  When she switches wrists, the other wrists develops the same rash after one day.  I think she has an allergic contact dermatitis. She is no longer wearing her vivofit.  Are there other band options?

Hi. I'm wondering if you would give me permission to use this image to email to Garmin to demonstrate what the rash looks like. They responded when I complained directly asking lots of questions, one asking for a photo if I had one. Thanks. Caroline

Hi, I'm not sure which photos you are referring to but I have sent the two photos showing the rash with the Minnie Mouse strap directly to Garmin and they did respond and want to test it and offered a replacement refurbished Fitbit and a new strap from their website. I don't want to replace the actual Fitbit with a refurbished product so am waiting for a reply from them. I don't mind if you refer to the photos being similar to what your child has as long as you say they are mine, or maybe you can share the link to this forum and suggest they reply here too.

    Best of luck!

P.S. I didn't reply to Garmin for a while which is why there's a delay on this.

I bought both my kids these a couple weeks ago ( Minnie Mouse band and Star Wars band) and they both have the same rash as the ones pictured in the comments. Waste of money!

  • I've heard nothing from Garmin but still have the problem. My daughter really has to limit the amount of time she wears hers.

If she wants to wear it out for a full day then we cut Tegaderm and place it on the underside of the band. That helps minimize the reaction and buys her a little more time.

Hi I bought cheap bands on amazon and all fine.

Any bands compatible with vivo 2  should be ok.

I bought this one and no rash.

My daughter has the Disney Princess vivofit jr and the exact same thing happens to her after just a couple hours of wear. She has no issues to other bracelets, bandaids, etc. Just this band!
