Vivofit jr2 has completely stopped counting steps. Everything else seems to work

Ours is brand new and won’t count steps. Garmin, what is the fix? Why is this happening???

We are having the same issue.  I tried a re-sync and no luck. 

I fixed it accidentally. I went to take the battery out and realised that the device had been put into the band upside down. The band and device have a small arrow on it which tells you which way to put it in. Very annoying to receive it out of the box like this. And even more annoying that Garmin don’t actually state this necessity anywhere.

Just got it out of the box now and no steps counting happening at all but everything else seems to be working okay. I took out out of the band to verify it's facing the right way, too. Any answers?

My daughters vívofit Jnr 2 has same issue. Everything works except step counting. Cannot reset (doesn’t switch off when holding button for 10-15 seconds?). An answer to this issue would be appreciated Garmin.
