Vivofit Jr. 2 does not connect to phone

Hi,

I've recently purchased Vivofit Jr. 2 for my son and I have issues connecting it to vivofit jr app on my phone.

I go to pairing on both devices. On the app there is a popup that it sees the band and I need to confirm that the same code is displayed on app and device.
Which is the same so I confirm. There is a message connecting and then information that vivofit jr band was disconnected and I have to bring both devices back and try again or something.
They are one next to another and it happens all the time.
My phone is Moto Z2 Play on Android 7.1.1 which works just fine with my Vivoactive HR watch via Garmin Connect.
Tried installing vivofit app again, rebooting phone, restarting bluetooth and nothing works.

On the other hand the band easily connected to old Nexus 7 tablet which is Android 6.0. It syncs just fine, updated the firmware on the band without any issues.

It's just annoying that I need to look for a table to sync my sons band when I have phone in my pocket.

Anyone had similar issues? Any solution?
