Battery defective or software problem?

I used the watch today starting with 75% battery remaining for a 2.5 hour bike ride. After about 1:45 hour the clock showed "Battery low" but recorded to the end. There was still 3% battery left. Is it because of the SW version 8.10 or is the battery actually defective? I bought the watch used.

Bluetooth and ANT+ was deactive. I don't install some Apps oder other watch-faces. I also didn't use the heart-rate sensor.

The watch uses a lot of battery on GPS, it should last about 8-9 hours (when new) using GPS when it starts full. With some calculation, it should use about 30% of the battery for 2.5 hours. I would say the reading of 3% was wrong in your case since it recorded well beyond the limits. You can try to use it until it shuts off completely to recharge it, there have been some records on the forum as well from users reporting battery issues after software updates and mostly it was due to the percentage being incorrect rather than sudden death of the battery. Also some background activities have been reported using more than normal (like widgets and apps).

I'm having a battery life issue too since the update. I just updated to V8.2 but the problem still persists. Battery goes from full charge to 10% in less than a day. No GPS usage. Prior to the update the battery was lasting approximately 4 days with my setting before recharge. Please advise
