Pushing pram

I have seen very old posts stating nothing can be done for lost steps when pushing a baby pram/stroller. Wondering if things have changed from then ..

I am walking as my main exercise ATM as i just had a baby and I'm stuck between wanted to log HR vs steps. Currently I am putting my watch in my pocket for the steps but would really like all readings while pushing the pram. Instead of logging as walk is there any other settings to use to count the steps while wearing the watch on my wrist.

Any advice welcome.

  • I had the same playing golf ;-) I just use my right hand (without the watch) to push and then it registers steps fine. The problem is (I think) that the watch uses vibrations from the bone to register steps and when you hold material that dampens the vibration it misses steps. For Golf the soft grass is also not very helpful, and the combination of dampening soles/grass and holding rubber handles is probably the root cause. You can always use a arm band (Fitcent has a relatively cheap one) to register heartbeat when the watch is in your pocket (or just use your phone and the armband to register it if that works better for you).
