Screen became suddenly unreadable

Hi, when waking up this morning, my screen was completely unreadable. It is like only half of the screen is active with lines. It is not steady but changes with touch. Sometimes the entire screen, sometimes partial. But not once was the screen normal.

The battery was not depleted, no recent software updates or new apps installed. Tried reboot and even went back to defaults. I noticed some similar issues with other users, but none with a solution mentioned.

I have the watch for 2,5 years now.

Any suggestions?

Kind regards,

T.

  • Looks like a screen defect to me. You can try to set it in test mode to see if it is SW related but looks like some address line broken in the screen matrix. You can try a hard reset as well (hold the button until it shuts off)

    To access Test Mode:
    1. With unit in “off” state, turn the unit on
    2. As soon as the display turns on, press and hold the button
    3. Wait for the unit to vibrate 3 times and release the button (there will be a long gap between the second
and third vibrations). The unit will then enter test mode.

  • If the suggestion from did not work, I encourage you to reach out directly to your local Garmin Product Support team.

To do this, type "support.garmin.com" in your address bar and use the Garmin Support Center to research your issue.  Once you get far enough in the search, you will see (at the bottom of the page) some contact options, which may include Call, Chat, and Email.
