I just purchased my first garmin vivoactive 3 (I already own a garmin gps device) so garmin hasn't let me down before now. First it did not track my workout on Adjustable Workout Aerobic Stepper, and so I moved onto to walking/steps which seems to be literally the ONLY thing it tracks. I ran for 15 minutes and in my apartment and yet it didn't even acknowledge that it was activity or track it at all. I used weights while I was walking earlier this morning yet it didn't track that either. Since I have owned this vivoactive 3 it doesn't appear to do anything but chew through my battery! I have turned off gps entirely on every activity because I should not have to charge a device daily. I previously had a fitbit and that kept the charge for almost an entire week but wasn't happy that fitbit was using data I generated through my activity to try to sell it back to me in a package they called premium, so I moved to garmin. I was walking 10k plus steps a day and over 5 miles - yet some how this fitness device only tracks a portion of it. I move throughout the day plus FYI deciding to only partner with MyFitnessPal which I formerly had an account with. MyFitnessPal got hacked in 2018 and the info is still on sale on the dark web, so yeah not going to connect that to my account. Cronometer does the same thing yet garmin will allow me to share my data with them but will not show what I ate on the connect. I have used cronometer for over 6 years and it is both accurate and SAFE. So I am ready after less than a week to return this vivoactive 3 because it's definitely not working properly. Better the devil you know I guess. Suggestions on fixing the multitude of issues?
