Vivo 3 not connecting to gps

My watch won't find the GPS.

  • Vivoactive 3 or vivomove 3? Meanwhile, moved thread to vivoactive 3 forum

  • Mine (VA3) has been taking a very long time to connect but eventually does. The map is also looking pretty weird like maybe the GPS is dropping out? I tested the GPS following directions from another thread & I do get a signal. I think there must be something screwy with the latest update. 

  • I've suddenly got the same problem that GPS won't connected before I start my run

    I rhave done the same run in the same area for 9 months without issue but on Saturday my issue started..

    Things I've tried to fix it :

    Restart watch

    Connect watch to Garmin Express and checked for latest update (which I have)

    Tried other GOS methods from GPS to GPS+Glonsass and GPS+Galileo - all failed

  • Same issue for me. Since last weekend (Halloween) my VA3 has been taking about 3-5mins to initialise  and after the activity the route trace is all over the place

  • I use the Vicoactive 3 Music and got the same problem.

    With the watch on my wrist, nog GPS is found. WIt does find GPS while laying on a table

  • also have the same issue. GPS will not connect at all now

    have tried full reset

    GPS + GLONASS

    software update

    deleting epo.bin file and re-syncing with Garmin

    leaving outside for over an hour trying to connect to GPS

  • Please try a hard reset, then syncing the watch with Garmin Express.  

    To perform a hard reset, press and hold the power button on your watch.  Ignore the "Power Off" question and the assistance alert (if applicable) on your watch, just continue holding the power button pressed down until the screen goes blank.  Once this occurs, you may release the button.  Allow the watch to sit powered off for a few seconds, then you may power it back on by pressing and releasing the power button.

    How Do I Install Garmin Express?

    After syncing with Garmin Express, if your watch is still unable to connect to GPS, please reach out to your local Garmin Product Support team.

    To do this, type "support.garmin.com" in your address bar and use the Garmin Support Center to research your issue. Once you get far enough in the search, you will see some contact options, which may include Call, Chat, and Email.
