Wrong calorie counter

Why does my calorie counter show between 300-500 calories on myday before I put it on in the morning

  • Do you mean the active or rest calories?

Even when in rest, you burn calories to keep your body warm and your organs running: heart, brain, kidneys,... This should be about the same every day because your Garmin calculates this based on your age, length and weight.

Acitve calories should only be counted during activities: regular movements during the day and exercises: running, cycling, swimming, walking,...

I hope this helps you to understand the calorie counter?

  • Hi, thank you for your reply… it’s the total calories that is shown on ‘my day’. So I guess from your answer that it is approximating the calories I will burn based on my age, height etc..??
