Recording double swim length

I have been using my VivoActive 3 for less than a week. Great results with bike and run, but both times I used it to track a swim, it doubles(ish) my distance. Time is recorded accurately, and I have the pool length set to the correct 25m length, but it has registered over 2000m per swim, when I have only gone around 20 laps/40 lengths, which is only ~1,000m.

Anybody else have similar issues?

  • I have the same problem with Garmin Forerunner 745 right now. Exactly as you describe it. Tried everything. Reset the settings, changed pool lengths, tried it in 25m and 50m pool. always comes out double.

  • Does yours also disengage the HR monitor function during swims?
I may return it, as I specifically purchased it for the swim/HR tracking functions.

  • I actually have an HR Pro chest strap and that used to also not work. After the latest firmware update at least the HR Pro works now during swims. However, you need to connect the watch and chest strap AND start the session before either device is under water. Regarding the Forerunner 745: The latest firmware update appeared to fix the issue. Sadly, now it's back to tracking some laps double. It's incredibly frustrating and I have contacted Garmin about this now.

  • I have the same issue with Fenix 6; it doubles the number of laps for some reason.
