My run is showing on my watch but not in Garmin App

My run is showing on my watch but not in Garmin App, I tried to add it manually but got the message We don't support the file type you tried to import.
I tried to fix the file but then got
One of your files was not accepted by the system.
Any ideas on how to fix it?

OK I got your file. However, the distance is still the same - 7.9 km.

Fit File Repair tools spits out the following message:

33 bytes of the file are corrupted and could not be repaired.

Attach the fit file to this thread. We can take a look to see if it is repairable.

3 ways to get the file to us:

Zip the file, then in a reply post Insert >> Image/video/file >> Upload >> browse for file >> OK.
Zip the file, then drag and drop it onto a reply post.
Post a link to the file using a file sharing service, such as OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.

I see it is named "fitfiletools." Does this mean this is the version you ran through the FIT File Tools site? Do you have the original from your watch?

They all look like that now - not sure what I have done!

You said you did a manual upload. So I assume you connected your watch to your computer, browsed to the \GARMIN\ACTIVITY folder and got the file from there. That would be the original fit file from your watch.

Yes, but now when I go to the file they are all internet explorer files

Somehow you've changed the file extension ".fit" to be associated with Internet Explorer on your computer. That is a separate issue. Not sure which file from your image is corrupt, but assuming it is the one named "2021-04-30-07-05-52" Since that would be the fit file for yesterday. Just zip that one and attach it to your post.

Meanwhile, I'll see what I can do with the file you already posted.

Hi, yes, not sure what I have managed to do! The file I previously attached is the corrupted one - my run from this morning

This will work for you - fitfiletools-fixed.fit

Download then import into Garmin Connect using the import data page

Repaired using Fit File Repair Tool.

Some tips to help minimize the occurrence of corrupt fit files:

After verifying that everything has synced, remove the files in the \GARMIN\ACTIVITY folder on the device’s file system using these directions: Removing Recorded Activities on a Garmin Fitness Device If you're using a Mac computer, empty the trash folder before you unplug your device from the computer.
Try to avoid excessive button presses during your activity.
Regularly check for firmware updates using Garmin Express
If issues with corrupt files persist, contact Garmin Support.
