Bluetooth only connected when app is running (iPhone)

I am not sure if it is possible.  But I have found that I always need to have the app open and running in the background

Hello, thank you for posting this. It is very helpful information. 

I think it is good practice for phone users to regularly close all their apps to keep their phone running at peak performance and also to maintain battery life, and I am in the habit of "swiping up" on all my apps to close them multiple times a day. 

Is there any way to keep the Garmin app "running in the background" even after swiping up on it. Is there any work being done by Garmin to address this issue to prevent this functionality from working? 

I like to have the "Find my Phone" feature available but it really is no good to me if bluetooth is always disconnecting every time I close all my apps.

Hey there! I am sorry for any inconvenience on how this feature works but our App is not able to run in the background if you close it out. As of right now, Garmin is not working to change how this works. I understand that this is not the answer you would have hoped for and I am sorry for that. If there is anything else I can do for you, please let me know!
