Vivoactive 3 inaccurate heart rate reading

Hi,

Whenever doing any exercise (mainly HIIT) my heart rate is not accurate, I will be sweating from head to toe and heart pumping, the measurement will be sitting at 60 BPM... A lot of friends I train with have the same watch and do not experience this...

Hello! What software and WHR version is your device at? Do you notice this issue in any other activity profiles?

  • Hi, I believe all the latest, but not certain. Heart rate seems to be spot on when not in any activity.

Can I have you check the software versions? Menu>Settings>System>About>SW Versions.

  • WHR - 20.03.31

    SW Version 7.70

  • WHR - 20.03.31

    SW Version 7.70

Okay, I have sent you an email.

  • I am having the same issue with brisk walking. When looking at the HR graph, I can actually see it drop during activity. I have washed the back, restarted, turned off sensor and restarted, tried it tighter and then looser on my wrist and have been unsuccessful in fixing the issue. Because HR is inaccurate, calories burned after 4-5 miles is showing around 100. I have the same software version 7.70 and same WHR version 20.03.31. Watch is only 15 months old. Please advise on how to fix issue, thank you.

  • I'm having the same issue. The other day I dropped the bar after my 4th set of heavy deadlifts and my V3 was reading 48bpm! My resting HR is 55bpm or so haha. At the time I was gasping for breath and drenched in sweat. When my watch is having a good day it's usually up around 160 by that point. Another thing that seems to confuse it is the stair climber. Really strenuous cardio, but when I start climbing the HR actually starts dropping until it gets to around 70bpm! I'd love to know if there's a fix coming, as it never used to do this.

One thing I have noticed is that there appears to be a magical 8 minute mark after commencing any exercise when all of a sudden it realises you're actually training and jumps up by 60bpm or so. Really weird.

  • any solutions about low hr readings? could you share it if it is possible.

  • I am having the same problem and have the same software and WHR version. This is really frustrating, I am having to wear my partners watch now when training. If you could let me know what I need to do to resolve this please?
