Analogue hands permanently show quarter past nine during activity

My analogue hands do NOT need re-alignment - as they show the correct time, except during an activity.

I have “Move IQ” and “”Auto Activity Start” switched to On.

I have “Gesture” switched to Off, so that every time I look at my watch the analogue watch hands should show the correct time.

But when I go for a walk , the watch hands swing to show quarter past nine – and stay in that position until I stop the walk.

I understand that “Auto Activity Start” has recognized my walk – so the analogue hands swing to the quarter past nine position to make room for the notification message – but I would have hoped that they would return to the correct time as I continue to walk. Instead, the analogue hands remain in the quarter past nine position.

Are there any other settings that I can use to correct this issue?

  • Is this the default Garmin analog watch face or one from the IQ Store? Depending on the activity, there may not be enough power in the watch to run an IQ watch face. If it's the standard Garmin analog watch, it shouldn't do that.

  • Thank you for responding.

My watch is a Vivomove 3S which has permanent analogue hands, which I hoped would always show the correct time (except for the few seconds when I request it to show other details via the digital display - and this is when the analogue hands move to quarter past nine to make room for the digital display).

I have now experimented further and switched "Auto Activity Start" to OFF and manually started an activity via the watch itself. After double tapping to start the activity, my analogue hands returned to show the correct time.

Perfect, so I've found a workaround that I'm happy with Slight smile

I've also just had a reply from Garmin technical support which says.....

"In regards to the issue you have reported 'While out for a walk - I still want the analogue hands to show the correct time – and NOT to permanently show quarter past nine.' I am afraid this is not possible by design.

When the watch is in activity mode, the analogue hands will be set to a different time than the current time as the hands can not be in the way of the digital screen when the activity is active. There is not a way this can be changed, this is by design of the watch. "
