Difficulty downloading a watch face, told to up date in Garmin Express but showing up to date

I’ve tried unsuccessfully to download the Kuala Lumpur watch face for my Vivoactive 3 element. In the ConnectIQ section for the watchface, it tells me that I need to update my watch on Garmin Express which I have done repeatedly. My watch shows up to date in Garmin Express but I still repeatedly get the same update message in ConnectIQ. Any ideas?

    Hello! Have you tried downloading this watch face via Garmin Express? If you connect your watch with Garmin Express, click on Connect IQ, then "Get More Apps", here you can search for Kuala Lumpur and then hit "Download". Once it finishes syncing, it should show up as your watch face. Let me know if this helps.

  • Thank you for the advice. Unfortunately i am still encountering the same problem. Garmin Express says that the watch is updated however the message in ConnectIQ refers me to update the watch in Garmin Express.

    Okay, are you able to download anything from Connect IQ or does it only show that the watch needs to be updated regardless of which watch face? We may want to try uninstalling the Connect IQ app and then reinstalling it and see if this changes it.

  • I am able to download other watch faces and apps from the ConnectIQ store. I have deleted the app and downloaded it again however the problem persists. 

  • Which watch face are you having trouble with?  Do you have an APAC device?

  • Sorry for the late reply JIm. I have a Vivoactive 3 element which I purchased in December of last year. I purchased it from the Garmin store online here in Malaysia (through Lazada or Shopee I'm not sure which). It seems to be just this one watch face which you can search for if you type in "Kuala Lumpur". Obviously it's the city I live in and whilst not important, it's confusing I seem to be in a perpetual loop!

  • Just as an update, ConnectIQ on my iPhone states that my watch is a compatible device for this watch face, however, on ConnectIQ via Garmin Express (Macbook) it does not seem to be listed.
