Battery drains in rain

Has anyone experienced their Garmin's battery draining while running in rain? My watch has done that twice now, when it had enough of a charge to get me through my run (based on usage in dry weather). It will shut off just like it would normally at 0% charge. I'm able to recharge it just fine, but its frustrating to have it die halfway through my run. I'm in Oregon so many days its difficult to avoid the rain.

Do you lock the screen during the run? Water makes the touchscreen go nuts, I have had no issues with locked screen, outdoors with rainy weather the watch is mostly covered by the sleeve, but pool usage hasn’t shown any noticeable drain for me...

Hellol! Can you lock the screen the next time you are running through the rain, then keep me posted if this were to make a difference?

Thanks for the tip. I haven’t tried Lock Screen so I’ll give it a try.

@Garmen-AmberD , unfortunately when the screen is locked the screen has a large lock displayed obscuring most of the screen - this makes it very unusable. People have been complaining of this since day one and Garmin has not responded with a correction.
