VA3 Not Tracking Calories during Cardio activity

During my recent Cardio activities, while my VA3 is capturing my heart rate, the calories remain at 0 and the activity never uploads to Connect (although my Intensity Minutes increase). Anyone else experience this and can recommend a fix?
