Step count during activity

I just switched to a vivoactive 3 from my old vivosmart HR. I use it for counting steps (at least 10.000 a day) and I have a media of 14.000 a day. I noticed though that it don't add the steps done during a walk with the GPS even if the activity choosen is Walk, how come? Yesterday I had over 12.000 steps during the day plus  the activity that signed 7582 steps. Is there a way to make them all count?

  • The VVA3 does add on steps taken during a walk activity. Not sure what you need to do to get this corrected. You could ask the Garmin people directly or perhaps it's already been addressed elsewhere on the forum.

  • It does count all steps because without an activity, I would have barely 3,000 steps per day.

What I suggest is to add the CIQ Data field "Steps to Fit" to your walk activity display. I you do that, you will see steps during the activity and it will show up in Connect.

If you also add "Simply Steps" to your activity display, you'll see your total for the day increase as you walk. That's what I do.
