Activity not showing details or syncing?

So on my watch face it shows "last sport" with my distance, time and pace of run. When I actually click on the activity on the watch it shows a random incorrect date and only the option to delete, nothing else? I also cannot sync this activity. I've tried syncing it through Garmin connect and also through Garmin Express on my PC? Am I able to sync this run? Why did this happen?

Please let me know how I can resolve this? Is the file corrupt?

Thanks

  • I've just had this issue this morning. Went out for a run, got to the end saved it - sorted. Then the watch decides to reset, it has the last sport time and the intensity minutes. Yet on the actual last activity segment of the watch it only has my previous run. This has happened a few times before, it's poor from Garmin.

  • You could try to import the activity manually from the web Connect activity list. If it still doesn't import, there might be some corrupted data. If so, there are some threads in the forum about fixing corrupt FIT files.

I've tried importing using the Garmin express app by downloading the .fit file from the watch using a the USB connection but it says: "We don't support the file type you tried to import." (despite being the appropriate file type). I'm guessing that means it is corrupt. I've tried one of the fixes online but no luck as of yet. I'll keep searching. This is really disappointing from Garmin though considering they value themselves on "built to last" yet it seems this forum is filled with complaints of software issues - perhaps i've chosen the wrong brand.

  • Thank you, that has worked for me.

    hi,

it says: "We don't support the file type you tried to import."

run your fit file through Fit File Tool's section remover (without any removing)

import this fit file manual from within Garmin Connect Web

    when this fails

with your consent we can have a look at your file with FitFileRepairTool

zip the fit file and upload here in the forum (drag & drop in your post works)

or provide a link to it on a cloud storage

    or send it via pm

    happy & safe sporting

Managed to install the fit file repair tool and get the file to load. GPS mapping didn't record correctly but otherwise everything seemed fine.

Hopefully it doesn't happen often. GPS has also taken ages to connect on my device and sometimes fails to connect over the duration of a run which is kind of annoying.

    Thanks for all the help.

I thought with FFRT you only get half of your activity repaired without license Wink

did Fit File Tool's section remover not fix it
