Watch wont show notifications from phone

Hello

Connected and synced with Garmin Connect app, on Huawei phone.

Everything double chencked, settings, notifications, troubleshooting, all. The watch is connected to the phone, app works.

Everything workes, except notifictions. Wont show any, no call and no text.

Tried factory reset, reconnect, rebooth, phone rebooth...the watch can find the phone and ring ( find phone option )

Any help?? tnxxx

  • Same here (also Huawei phone).

Recently i've got Android 10 and notifications stops working.

I manage to fix it once by clearing Connect app cache but after a few days stops working again.

Clearing cache not working any more :-(

  • Have you tried Connect App > Settings > Notifications > App Notifications.

Then check check which apps you want or even all apps

Apologies if this is obvious or you've already tried this

  • I often have the notifications stop.  Just restarting the watch usually fixes it for me.  Occasionally force closure of GCM on the phone and possibly hard restart of the phone (iOS for android clearing the cash).  This has worked for me.

Occasionally will need to do a hard restart (holding the button in for 10-15 sec until the watch turns off, then hit again to turn back on) - do this at the start of the day as it usually seems to cause loss of that days data

I have never had to reset to factory settings

Same here, I've a OnePlus six phone and I can't receive any message

  • I was able to fix it so I'll leave some information here maybe it will be helpful to someone. Tested on 2 phones with Android 10 (Huawei and Xiaomi) for couple of weeks.

If notifications stops working clearing Connect app cache is not enough you have to clear app data. After that you have to again sign in to app and allow all permission that is nesesery to all function work properly.

Now immediately after that you have to exclude Connect app from automatic app management in battery settings, after that all communication with the watch works flawlessly and I haven't notice excessive battery drain from that app.

Apparently android 10 have some specific app management because I've also seen notification problems in Huawei Health app connected to Honor Band 4 and above fix resolve problem.
