My vivoactive 3 tracked my walk but not my steps

Hi All

So tonight I did a 7.71km work which I tracked and its recorded on my garmin app but I noticed my steps I had only done 2737 which is not right. It should of been over 14,000 at least.

This has never happened before. My GPS is on because it tracked my walk, my walking activity status us on and I have turned the watch off and on - reboot.

I have been wearing the watch all day so not sure what is happening.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Sarah

  • Check that tracking is turned on in the watch's settings, GCM device settings, and web connect. Also, is it set as your default tracker?

This also has happened to me twice in the last couple of weeks.  The app tracked the walk, including the time, pace and distance, but the steps didn't get added to my steps total.  So frustrating!  If anyone knows how to fix this, please help.

  • This has happened to my partner the last 2 days. Did anyone get to the bottom of this issue?

  • This has happened to me with runs in last 3 days.  Barely any of the steps have been added.  I’ve had this watch for 26 months and only now is it doing this.  It is set up as activity tracker and preferred tracking device. It has also not been recording correct distance is measuring 0.1 less for every mile almost. Very frustrating.  Built in obsolescence?

  • This has happened to me also. Completed a 5k run but only 70 steps. so frustrating

  • Steps are recorded indecently from the activity, but you should expect more steps during a run. One thing that can hinder the correct recording of steps is if you are not running with a natural arm swing, such as while holding a water bottle or pushing a baby stroller.
