VA3 NFC broken (again)

A web search reveals many complaints of this nature. My VA3, on which I have successfully used Garmin Pay many times, now refuses to make an NFC connection. Rebooting the watch does not seem to help. The SW-Version shows 7.20

Got it working again by removing my credit card from the wallet and then adding it back in.
