Software update for older series

Hi,

Does someone know if garmin still updates the software when there already a new version out?

I have the vivoactive 3 and and always problems with connecting. The vivoactive 4 is already available.

How long do they provide software support for each watch?

They seem to keep releasing updates for older devices, at least for a period of time. My Vivoactive 3m recently got an update even though the 4 and the Venu is out.
