Notifications not working - yet another question

I have a Vivoactive 3.
I started using 7 weeks ago.
Notifications worked for a day or 2.
Then stopped for about a week.
Has been working flawlessly ever since.
Until this morning.
NOTHING has been changed on the phone or the watch.
I did double check though - the phone is connected.
I have synced from the phone, I have synced from the mobile.
Still no joy.

What should I do?

EDIT: I've looked through many posts from others with the same problem - I don't find anything that will help. Feeling frustrated. Grrr!

    Always the first step.  Do a hard restart of your phone and a hard restart of your watch.  More times than not this solves many glitches!

    Thanks for the reply.

    Phone turned off and on.

    Watch turned off and on.

    No joy.

    Now have watch reset.

    No change. Time to return I think. Disappointed relieved 

    I only bought in November (Black Friday) and started using from Christmas Day.

    Did you check under settings on you Garmin Connect app?

    Been there.

    Nothing to be found, all is OK there.

    I have an Amazon expert taking me through checks. Nothing they have suggested isn't already set.

    Still stuck. Getting upset because of the time wasted now. Confused

    You need to do a hard restart of the devices.  On the VA3 hold the button in until the device shutdown, usually about 15 sec. 

    on your phone “Google” how to do a hard restart for your particular phone and model. 

    On the watch you may want to do this early in the day as it often causes loss of steps

    Also check if you are using iOS 13:  Due to an iOS13 privacy change, notifications are no longer sent to connected devices if the Show Preview settings is set to Never. With iOS13 this setting must be either When Unlocked or Always to receive notifications on your connected Garmin device.

    My notification and weather widget sometimes shows up and at times not, i just leave it as is... been doing those routine (hard reset, unpair/pair etc) to no avail... maybe its the VA3 itself has issues
