Running Laps not Recording

I have had my VA3 for roughly 6-7 months.  Yesterday I ran a marathon, and to my surprise I wasn't receiving lap notifications each mile - this has never happened before.  When I finished, the activity summary showed the entire race as a single lap (see photo).  After a quick google search I confirmed that the lap setting on the watch was configured properly for auto laps each mile.

Can anyone offer a suggestion as to why the laps didn't record, and if there is any way to access that lap info now?  Thanks.

  • There is no way to access lap info when there is no lap info.

As to why your watch did not autolap during the race, then I have no idea. One hypothesis would be that you used a different activity profile for the race, one that had autolap disabled.

That's what I had thought at first.  On my old Vivoactive, I once accidentally started the Cycle activity when I went for a run and as a result only got splits every 5k. That's what I thought had happened here, but after the race I confirmed that it was it had recorded as a run.  I know I didn't change any lap settings, since I had no idea you could even do that.  I haven't run since the marathon, so I don't know if this will happen again or not.

One final update - ran tonight and the watch provided splits every mile just as it always had.  Weird.
