What is your normal battery drain with your Vivoactive 3?

Hello!

So, my vivoactive 3 is 1 week old. Updated it with the last available 7.20 via Garmin Express with a cable.

My battery drain is 25% per day with 2 1-hour long runs per week.

NO additional fields.

One additional face (and the most popular one) - CRYSTAL

Only one additional widget: Battery Gauge

I do consider substitution of Vivoactive 3 with Forerunner 245.

So the question is not how to prolong the battery life but HOW OFTEN DO YOU RECHARGE YOUR VIVOACTIVE 3?

  • My VA3 is more then 2 years old.

Stock watchface & only stock widgets. Doing 30 min - 1:30 activities every day (GPS + external HRM strap).
Minutes after unplugging, the battery goes down immediately to ~95% and stays there.
From then on, it will take about 5 days to lower to ~30% where I usually charge it again.

Running a marathon took less then 25% in three and a half hours.

It got worse during the last years, but I´m still fine with that results. Not using it for running at all (I was ill over christmas) it felt like the drain is the same, like it is with activities. I won´t get over a week (with remaining 10-20%).

I´m sure it is a combination of the battery-age and the software. Having the drop after every charge cycle, leads to a wrong internal min- & max value. The same happens with smarphones. Mostly a full chargecycle - restarting . charge again to 100% optimizes that.

  • For me, a 1.25 hour GPS activity per day means I recharge the battery on day 3 with 20 to 25% left in it. If my 1.25 hour activities are indoors, I go for about 5 days before recharging. I have BT turned on 100% of the time. I use the No Frills watchface.

I charge mine once per week. I do 3-4 GPS activities per week. I also use Crystal face. Discharge rate below 1%/hour. I only use the computer port to charge. Other sources my harm the battery.

  • Same here. I'm happy.

  • A VA3M , over a year old. 0.6-0.9% per hour drain depending on how often I check the watch, scroll through widgets etc. I also get about 7 hours of GPS, but this varies depending on the activity / location somehow. Have lots of CIQ stuff installed, widgets, data fields, and ActiFace as a watch-face. These are all irrelevant in my case - using the watch is what drains it, same as with my phone.
