Smart Watch Face problems

Is anyone having problems with their Vivio Active 3 watch face going back to that Default Non Smart Watch face that just has the time, date and seconds and when you try to change it you can't select any smart watch faces and have to reboot the watch to be able to select a smart watch face?

My Vivio Active 3 will randomly go back to that default watch face and won't allow me to change to a smart watch face unless I reboot it by turning it off and back on. It seemed to happen after the firmware update 3 updates ago and happens more often after checking notifications but sometimes will just switch to the default watch face for no apparent reason.

Everything else works, the Widgets, apps and notifications.

  • A lot of people report that. Fortunately, rebooting is an easy fix.

Is Garmin Aware of this and are they doing something to fix it?

Don't you mean Unfortunately, rebooting is an easy fix?

It's a pain having to reboot and re establish my location by going outside to get a new GPS Fix which is not easy when I', at work, can't just suddenly go outside in the middle of my shift.

  • it's  because your watch face crashes. get in touch with the dev and send him the logs or use another face.

if you are on old firmware update to the most recent version.

  • Peter,

This has happened to me 2x.

One time it was directly after a firmware update in the morning so I lost little.

The one time I had a significant crash was in the middle of an activity where the watch face (no frills) didn't come into play. However, I do use a couple of steps-related IQ data fields during my activities and they were blown away off my watch when it crashed.

  • that's a watch face from another author, but the watch face will have no effect on crashing sport activities, the steps field you use probably is the cause (check /garmin/apps/logs on your device).

  • I have this problem also. Rebooting fixes it. Annoying.

  • True because the 2 fields I use disappeared completely. However, this has only happened to me 1 time out of hundreds, if not 1,000's, of activities. I think something else happened on the watch that caused those fields to crash. It has also happened to me that, after an update, I had to restart my watch to get my IQ watchface working again.

    It's been solid since.

Well, it's extremely Annoying and is now doing it more often and only started doing it after 3 firmware revisions ago and I was using the same watch faces before these firmware revisions. Is Garmin aware of this problem and are they doing anything about it? Is there something I can do to fix this problem?
