I guess you mean 6.90 not 4.90 , as stated in every other thread after 6.9 the battery drain issue appeared. In my case I've removed even every addon but the Battery Widget in order to monitor consumption and the issue remains

  • No, I mean 4.90.  The VA3 and VA3M (music) are on different firmware numbers. The latest VA3 is 6.90 whereas the latest for VA3M is 4.90.

Comfusing, I know,  since the two watches are now in the same forum!

I have the same symptoms as the VA3, CIQ apps not timing out (ie not returning to the watch face after a while. Etc. Despite the difference version number, the code between these two firmware must be aligned in some ways (to limit the development effort).

  • Hi, i'm using this beta firmware since the availability on this forum, because of Altimeter awful information since 2 years ... now i can tell that floor count is a nightmare and information are all but not accurate (it was working nearly well before).

Elevation with altimeter was working only for the first running with the beta code, but since tis miracle fo all activities i obtain systematically many hundred meters above reality or GPS information through Garmin Connect.

I have bought this watch at the beginning for more than 300€ and now i'm tired to wait for a solution.

  • Mine was on v6.6.  After I have complained about the Garmin Pay requiring pin passcode everytime, Garmin fixed the problem with a v6.7 which was auto-pushed to my watch.

Does this v6.94 take care of that?

  • I feel your pain. I've given up on Garmin, don't know what my next watch will be, but I do know what it won't be: garmin

  • Finally battery drain is also horrible wit this beta firmware, i do not encounter battery issue since 2.xx firmware 2 years ago. Not ready for production use. i have contacted Garmin regarding all the issue identified without any feedback or complementary request from their service.

After updating I was not able to connect Garmin HR strap anymore to watch. Watch cannot find HR strap to pair it. And  as already mentioned by other users, battery drain problem not solved either....
