Yes, you need to download golf courses to the watch. In Garmin Connect choose 'download golf courses' from the menu and select '+' to add courses close to you. Then open Golf on the watch en select a course to download it.
Thanks. As a group we have made a pac that we are not to bring our cell phones on the course when we play. We leave our phones at the club house. I was wondering if my new vivoactive 3 would work as a golf watch without my iPhone nearby.
Yes it does, if you start the course and download it first. See further in the forum for my remarks on how it works behind the scenes since I ran into some surprises before I understood how it works. My experience is with a Va3 music, but I assume the app works identical.
