Vivoactive 3 has been displaying 6 random numbers

Vivoactive 3 has been displaying 6 random numbers at full brightness.  Burns battery quickly, seems to occur when active mostly, but sometimes even when charging.

pressing the button returns to the watch face. but it happens again within a few seconds. I have tried different watch faces and have restarted the watch. Nothing has helped.

does not seem to be tracking steps/stairs/heart while the six random digits are displaying.

example digits are 674725 983492 157927 364950 584893 509427 614223 974467

watch is quickly becoming unusable.

  • It sounds like the code you have to enter when you are first setting up your watch to the connect app

mine was doing that too.  it was because it lost the bluetooth connection to my phone.

go into the garmin connect app on your phone, delete the device in there, then add it back in.  enter the 6 digit code, etc, etc, all good

Mine stopped displaying random numbers after I turned off my watch and turned it back on after about 5 minutes.

Didn't you do a factory reset on the watch recently? Sounds like you didn't pair the device with the phone. When the digits are shown, what can you see on your phone?

You can swipe away the numbers so it should show the watch face.

followed your advice. when i re-added the device it said that it was already paired.  i'll keep an eye on it and see if this has resolved the issue.  thanks for your response.

did not do a factory reset. it does sound like pairing, but watch is paired and sync'ing with the app

I thought that this was the ticket.  I removed the watch in my app, went to repair it and was told by the app that it was already paired. I just hit next thru all the setup steps. And, this seems to have resolved the issue.  Thanks so much JonathansEdge500, very much appreciated.  -- UPDATE hours later -- It is back, less frequent, but the 6 random digits are back.

Nevermind, it is back. Less frequently, but definitely back.

then you are losing comms with your mobile.  The code is the one that you need to link your mobile to your garmin.  otherwise anyone could link to your garmin.  its the same as linking your mobile to your car stereo.

On your phone, either delete the Connect app or clear its storage and cache. Then install/restart the app and add the watch again.
