No GPS since update 6.60

Is anyone else having this problem? Since the 6.60 update, I have not been able to get a GPS lock. The GPS version is 0.00 and stays that way after many reboots and leaving the watch in open sky for several 20 minute sessions with an activity stuck on waiting for GPS. I also restored to defaults and nothing changed. Tried GPS, GPS + GLONASS, and GPS + GALILEO; no luck.

Additionally, I am not able to connect to a Windows PC because I keep getting "USB device not recognized, the last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it." I figured maybe there was a cable problem and borrowed one from a friend with the same watch (works for his) and same problem. I also tried on a Mac with no luck (no error, but device doesn't show up as a drive). I also tried changing the USB mode to Garmin and received the same error.

I am able to sync with Garmin Connect Mobile on my iPhone, and have done so many times while troubleshooting. No help there. 

So I am not sure what else to do to get GPS working again. Any ideas?

    On my VA3 the GPS version is 2.50 after the firmware update to 6.60 - so maybe the update was imcomplete on your device?

    What is the sensor version on your device? Mine was updated to 6.30 with the 6.60 update and a few days ago there was another update changing the sensor version to 6.40.

    Maybe a factory reset on your device could help?

    A factory reset is normally not needed.  Try a hard restart first by holding in the power button for about 15 seconds.  This is also good practice anytime there's an update.

    Here’s all my versions:

    SW version: 6.60

    GPS version: 0.00

    TSC version: 2.10

    Sensor version: 6.40

    WHR version: 20.03.31

    Connect IQ: 3.0.10

    I tried the long press power off and then on again and still had no luck. Had it trying to acquire GPS for the last half hour now with no progress. I may reach out to Garmin customer support tomorrow and see if they can help.

    That's really interesting -  my VA3 has all the same versions, except mine has GPS version 2.50

    i would try to reinstall the new 6.60 firmware, several times if needed, It does look like incomplete update. I had similar issue on Fenix3hr a while back, could never get the GPS running for like 2 weeks, trying everything and one day the watch just restarted itself and after that it was fine.

    Hi Steve, my GPS was also "unlocked" after update to 6.60. It took it around 2 hours in open space (waiting for lock at activity start) to finally lock. After that it works fine. Obviously update deleted settings or something. I remember this happened also one or two times before, each time after FW update. I hope your watch will recover in similar way, just be patient.
