I just got a VA3 Music and I'm quite surprised that the supported music files are quite limited. In this day and age I would expect to have support for OGG-Vorbis and OGG-Opus audio codecs in a modern device. Most of my music I have saved as OPUS files, as they are vastly better than MP3.
Neither of this codecs require any licensing, so I hope with a software update in the near future this lack of functionality can be quickly resolved by Garmin.
