Can software update not vibrate to not wake me up at night?

Since the last few weeks there's been a few update on my Vivoactive 3, and they always happened at night, while I was sleeping, and obviously, it was set to "do not disturb" but yet, the update reboots the watch, thus it vibrates a few times, that wakes me up at night, and it even disable do not disturb and have to set it back.

That's so infuriating when you want to get a good night.

Do something please, either don't update when do not disturb is set, or while sleeping.

  • Bumping the thread as it happened last night again.

I was sleeping and my watch woke me up by vibrating, it was updating while sleeping, again.

It was set to "do not disturb", yet it vibrated.

Then I could sleep again, and guess what it disabled "do not disturb" and got an email, thus it vibrated again and woke me up again...

Seriously do something it's really infuriating to get woken up by updates when you just want to sleep.

Also, the sleep tracking is lost as it did not even took car of saving before rebooting...

  • Yep, happened to me last night at 4am.  I have an Instinct watch.  I've also gotten text vibrations at night even though my Do not Disturb is set on my phone, and my Garmin sleep hours are set appropriately.

Have you considered disabling Bluetooth at night?  That's where I'm headed, and there are automation apps that will do that so you don't have to do it manually each night.

  • Hi, as it was still happening sometimes, I took the habit of disabling Bluetooth before going to bed, this way it never happened again.

Also I have a NFC tag next to my bed on which is set to toggle Bluetooth, do not disturb and other settings on the phone, so I just have to hover my phone on it.

But I still disable it on my Garmin watch, it helps a bit with battery life I guess.

Note : "Do not disturb" on the phone does not enable it on the watch, you can have a silent phone but still receive notifications on the watch (I like it that way when at work), you have to enable do not disturb on the watch to not get notification vibrations on the watch. Both are independent.
